Actually, maybe I can I picked this book up off my shelf last week while I was sick Gifting of the Kindle edition at the Kindle MatchBook price is not available. Also–and this is one of the many good things about the novel–one gets the sense that the English used is not “standard” English but is instead sifted through another language; in this case Korean. Having done some reading on Korean related topics and fiction in the last year or two I hoped this well regarded novel would be a worthwhile read.

While Haesu and their children visit Korea, Chun loses the family business; he becomes addicted to gambling, abandons the family and eventually is found dead in Nevada.
This results in an exciting plot full of well-developed characters that you truly feel emotions for and unique storytelling that grabs your attention at every turn.
